GameStop announces PS5 restocking in the Store

GameStop announced a new PS5 restock this weekend, allowing for a new wave of potential current-generation console owners! The PlayStation 5s seems to be becoming more and more available as GameStop seems to increase the frequency of these various restocks. Whether or not that actually means anything to whether or not they’ll be available on store shelves and actually be able to stay there and not sell out right away is a mystery at the moment. However, GameStop’s last PS5 restock was about a week ago, which means the retailer gets their hands on a lot of consoles on a regular basis.

On Saturday, July 23, GameStop will get the PlayStation 5 restocked within the Store, giving a new group of people the chance to purchase the much-coveted console. However, there are a few catches. Most importantly, you must be a Power Up Rewards Pro member to be able to purchase the console and this costs $14.99 for an annual membership. It’s also possible that you won’t be able to buy the console for the $499.99 MSRP as GameStop was offering their inventory via bundles. These packages can start at around $700 or more, but fortunately, they usually include major game releases like Forbidden horizon westGift cards, accessories, and more. In general, all the things that you are likely to get in the end, but you are forced to buy them in advance if you want to participate in the action. Of course, that’s a lot of money to throw away at once, so it’s worth being prepared for it.

If frequent in-store restockings are to come, potential PS5 owners may be able to look forward to the festive season. The fact that GameStop is able to stock several stores with consoles for a brief period of time and restock them as soon as a week later may show that Sony is ramping up production for the impending holiday season. With huge versions like God of War Ragnarok Around the corner, this will be important to the platform stand.
